Fundraising
As you know, our fundraising efforts over the year have lead us to commence the building of the ramp, but our financial goal still needs a bit more help. Current fund levels have been outstanding, due to your support, but we are currently in need of another $1,000.00 to complete the ramp. When the ramp is complete, we will need to repaint the interior of the church and then concentrate on making the back room complete and ready for the Blessing Cupbard to be accessible to all persons in need. Currently, the Blessing Cupboard is down a set of steeo stairs, which makes it difficult to access.
Our newest fundraiser will be in the form of hand-crafted advent candles. The Advent candles will be displayed, in church, during morning service on Sunday, October 19, 2008. Photos will be available, here, on the website, shortly.
These candles are locally made by Watson's Landing and are all natural, with no chemicals in the ingredients. Due to having no chemicals, these candles will last you twice as long as the candles you are used to buying, with fragrance that will grace your home even when they aren't lite up! Advent candles are made in the traditional colors, 3 purple, 1 pink and 1 white pillar (Christ) candle per set. The candles are fragranced with Aloe, Cassia & Myrhh to enhance the biblical symbolism of the advent. 30% of the cost will go to our current fundraising efforts.
You will be able to see two options for display of the advent during Sunday morning service, and photos of the samples will be provided on this page soon.
Candles will be offered in for purchase, gift wrapped for easy gift giving, and in several formats. Here is the break-down of the options:
Advent Tapers: 3 purple tapers & 1 pink taper $6.00
Advent Votives: 3 purple votives & 1 pink votive $6.00
Small white pillar Christ Candle (2" x 7") $5.00
Medium white pillar Christ Candle (3" x 6.5") $8.00
Unscented sets will be made in glass holders by request: Price to be determined shortly.

Just so you know, Watson Landing candles are just one step below Soy candles for purity. Due to them being vegetable based parrifin and botanically scented, you will find a cleaner burning candle with far less disturbance to those who are fragrance sensitive. Regardless, keep in mind, unscented is an option for you in the votive sizes only. Advent Fundraising Candle will be available online at Watson's Landing web store in a few days. This will allow you to tell your friends about them, leaving the shipping costs up to them. 30% of each web sale will also go to the church! French Vanilla can be requested, rather than the Aloe, Cassia & Myrhh, if desired. These angels are for personal purchase, or can be hung in the church windows as Memory Angel's, engraved with your loved one's name. The angels are still for sale, with $5.00 going directly to the church fundraising.
